Comer & Greak Financial Consultants was formed in 1993 by Elizabeth Greak and Barbara Comer to serve a boutique client base specializing in providing investment management services as well as financial planning, insurance and tax services to their investment clients. They the decision then to remain small and offer individualized service and stand by that credo today. The business has evolved over the years incorporating more technology but the mission is the same - to provide quality, informed and personal service to clients.
Liz is also one of Comer & Greak's founding members and has weathered many financial climates in the past 3 decades, bringing a different background and approach to the practice. Undergraduate courses at SUNY and Mount Saint Mary College were largely exploratory in liberal arts followed by graduate studies in Social Sciences (with Economics) and Media. Liz's first real job was as a curriculum developer in NYS. Still exploring careers, she did some adjunct teaching and free lance media work and photography. A move to CT followed with a position with the Labor Department and finally a 10 year tenure in the CT Judicial Family Division. Knowing she did not want to be an employee anymore, Liz explored opportunities and went back and finished course work and testing to be licensed as an investment advisor and broker, joining Barbara in the early 1990s. She finds the business still interesting and exciting, with recent events adding the need to be current and well informed as well as intuitive. Liz has no plans to retire and hopes to continue the long relationships established with Comer & Greak's clients into the next generations.
Liz was also very involved in professional organizations as a board member and officer of the IAFP (now FPA). She was also a presenter at financial planning conferences. She served on community group and human rights boards and committees. She, with Barbara, are parents to a several Cavalier King Charles Spaniels and enjoy showing them. Liz is a life long skier, having coached for many years, enjoys many seasonal sports, cultural events (and not so cultural) as well as photography and music.
